The Foran High girls volleyball team went on the road to face Granby Memorial in a Class M state tournament quarterfinal match on Friday, and coach Julie Johnson’s sixth-seeded Lions defeated their third-seeded hosts 3-2 (25-21, 25-16, 13-25, 15-25, 16-14).

Foran will meet Rocky Hll in the semifinals on Wednesday at a site and time to be determined.

The No. 18 seed, Rocky High (12-10 ) has knocked off 15th-seeded Jonathan Law, second-seeded Lewis Mills and seventh-seeded Northwestern.

Bryzy Gonski had 35 assists and set Kelly Hunt for 11 kills, as Foran improved to 14-6.

Abby Amann had 13 aces, and Gonski added 13 digs and three aces to help defeat Granby (17-5).

No. 1 Woodland (19-1) will meet No. 5 Waterford (15-5) in the other semifinal.
