Foran keep winning

The Foran High wrestling team improved to 14-6 on the season after coach Frank Peters’ Lions won 3-of-4 matches at the East Haven Duals on Saturday.

Foran defeated Stratford 54-22, Immaculate/Joel Barlow 54-30 and Cheshire 55-16 after losing its first match to Platt of Meriden 42-34.

Posting wins versus Platt were Liam Callahan (eight-second pin at 106 pounds), C.J. Luth (49-second pin at 138), Clay Callahan (38-second pin at 152), Beau Garcia (10-2 major decision at 160), Wasim Khan (5:12 pin at 170) and Zach Hubler (3:13 pin at 182).

Liam Callahan added a 14-second pin, a 19-second pin and a 45-second pin.

Luth posted pins in 1:14, 1:27 and added an 11-5 decision.

Clay Callahan won out via 1:17 fall, 1:17 fall and 3:15 fall.

Garcia had a pin in 16 seconds.

Khan had pins of 45 seconds, 1:20 and a forfeit.

Hubler added a 17-8 major decision in his only other bout.

Other Lions posting wins were: Jacob Pouliot (27-second pin, 44-second pin and forfeit) at 113, Jubilee White (two forfeits) at 120, Mike Baran (4:13 pin) and Ben Croll (forfeit) at 195, Luke Edmondson (5:05 pin and forfeit) at 220 and Chris Kyek (24-second pin, 3:32 pin and forfeit) at heavyweight.
