The Foran High girls soccer team qualified for the state tournament for the first time in seven seasons, when coach Casey Blake’s Lions improved to 3-5-2 with a 1-1 tie versus West Haven on Oct. 23.
Kali Borden’s goal tied the game with 12:36 remaining. Meghan Sengstacken had the assist.
West Haven’s Alexis Serverino gave the Westies (5-1-2) the lead in the 13th minute of the second half.
Carly Pala had 17 saves.
