Foran earns program's first girls lacrosse win

The Foran High girls lacrosse team posted the program’s first victory with a 16-5 win over Stratford High at the Vito DeVito Sports Complex on Wednesday night.

Coach John Connors’ Lions are now 1-2 on the season. Stratford is 0-4.

Foran led 6-3 at the half and took the score to 11-3 before the Red Devils broke the string.

Julia Astram led a potent attack with five goals.

Kaira Kanlong scored four goals, Hannah Pouliot three, Monica Malangone two and Kali Borden and Taylor Wisniewski had one apiece.

Eva Knudsen and Astram had two assists each. Wisniewski and Astram had one.

Casey Malik got the win in net.

Erin Suech, Parker Callahan, Kyra Angileri and Erin Greene were the top defenders.
