Foran High honors its All-Staters

Foran High School honored its All-State athletes at halftime of the Lions girls basketball game with Jonathan Law on Feb. 1.

Fallon Bevino was named to the select squad as a junior in softball. She batted .435 with three home runs and 40 RBIs. In her three seasons starting, Bevino has a career .428 average with 113 hits and 88 RBIs.

Clay Callahan earned the nod on the wrestling mat for the second time, where as a senior he was 2013 State Open runner-up. He was 44-3 as a senior and complied an overall mark of 132-31. Callahan was a two-time Class M champion and two-time Academic All-State.

Taylor Ceballos made All-State in girls basketball as a freshman. She averaged 15 points and 14 rebounds a game.

Nik Griswold garnered a spot as a junior on the indoor track and outdoor track) team after he high jumped 6-4. He earned another state title last week.

Jessica Harkness, as a junior, was named All-State in softball for the second season. She has 502 career strikeouts in two seasons, and is a Junior Select All-Star MVP.

Jake Kasuba was named for his play on the football field. A sophomore, he passed for 2,547 yards and rushed for 555 more.

He averaged 255 passing yards per game with a 70 percent completion rate.

Kasuba threw for 24 touchdowns and ran for three more.

CJ Luth as a senior wrestler completed a career that saw him post a 155-21 record by winning the State Open title at 138 pounds.

He was fourth in New England and a two-time Class M champion.

Bradley Orban earned his third straight All-State berth in boys tennis. A junior, he upped his career record to 76-1. Orban is a two-time State Open champion and three-time Class M champion.

He was the CT Player of the Year and is currently ranked No. 5 in New England (18U) and is a 31013 All American.

Nick Weissauer as a junior football All-Stater had 86 catches for 999 yards and 11 touchdowns.

He set a school record for receptions in one year.

Zachary White as a junior hockey player scored 30 goals and had 31 assists.

He is now the program’s all-time leading scorer.

Austin Woods as a senior boys basketball player in 2013 averaged 15 points and 10 rebounds per game.

Joseph Zanghi was All-State in baseball in 2013. As a senior he batted .393 with an on-base percentage of .555 and a slugging percentage of .661.

He threw out 74 percent of base runners attempting to steal, was a Senior Select All-Star team member, and played in the CT vs MA All-Star game.
