The Foran High softball team was edged out 9-8 by host Morgan of Clinton in a Class M first round state tournament game on Wednesday.
Coach Jeff Bevino’s 24th-seeded Lions finished the season at 11-10.
The ninth-seeded Huskies (19-4) will host No. 25 Woodland Regional (12-9) today after the it upended No. 8 Berlin High 5-3.
Hannah DeSousa had two triples and drove in three runs for Foran, which led 4-1 after four innings and 8-5 after six.
Dani Kemp slugged a pair of doubles and drove in two runs.
Kayla Gosselin and Ashley Mendillo each had two RBIs.
Jenna Zacarelli hit a double.
Jen Dawson had three RBIs and Kelsey Hopkins two for Morgan, which rallied back with four runs in the fifth and again in the seventh innings.
