Football: Jonathan Law loses to East Lyme, 28-14

Jonathan Law lost a 28-14 non-league decision to host East Lyme on Thursday.

Coach Erik Larka’s Lawmen will take a 4-5 record into their Thanksgiving Day road game at Foran High (6-3).

East Lyme won for the first time behind Isaac Tomblin, who ran for two touchdowns and accounted for 105 of the Vikings’ 241 rushing yards.

Law’s Mitchell Smith completed 17 of 31 passes for 270 yards, including a pair of scoring passes.

East Lyme took the lead on a 49-yard pass in the first quarter.

Law’s Joe Mugford broke off a 62-yard run, setting up Smith’s 5-yard touchdown pass to Hayden Hulme and Cole Egersheim’s conversion kick to the the game at 7.

Tomblin’s 3-yard run put the Vikings back in front midway through the second quarter.

After a Law fumble in East Lyme territory, Tomblin ended a drive with a 1-yard plunge in the waning seconds of the half.

The Vikings made it 28-7 in the third quarter before Smith got the Lawmen on the board one more time.
