The Foran High football team came back from a 21-8 deficit to defeat Amity High, 22-21, in an SCC Tier 2 clash at Vito DeVito Field on Friday.

Brett Huber scored on a 3-yard run and Pierce Klein added the winning conversion kick late in the fourth quarter for coach Jeff Bevino’s Lions.

Foran’s defense held on downs twice in the second half, the later time giving the ball back to quarterback Lance DiNatale at the Lions' 25-yard line.

DiNatale completed passes to Jared Hubler and Huber, then moved the chains twice with a pair of carries.

Foran is now 5-3. Amity High is 2-6.

Matt Cruz had a touchdown run for Foran to give the Lions an 8-0 lead, following DiNatale’s conversion toss to Hubler.

Amity tied the game at the half, after a Ryan Sabo one-yard run and conversion carry.

The Spartan’s Colin Beaulieu gave Amity the lead with a 35-yard run in the third quarter.

His 44-yard run made it 21-8.

DiNatale, who was 20 of 34 passing for 257 yards, began the comeback with a 24-yard scoring pass to Hubler.

The Lions’ defense, led by Andre Vella, kept Amity off the board in the final period, before Huber scored late.

Huber had 14 catches for 157 yards.
