Football: Foran defeats Lyman Hall, 55-18

The Foran High football team rode the passing arm of Lance DiNatale to a 55-18 victory over Lyman Hall in Wallingford on Saturday.

DiNatale, a junior, was 17 of 23 passing for three touchdowns.

Jared Hubler caught 8 passes for 182 yards. He also threw a 27-yard touchdown to Matt Cleary.

R.J. Balado ran for 133 yards on 22 carries, as coach Jeff Bevino’s Lions improved to 4-0.

Colin Firmender caught a 30-yard touchdown pass and Cleary kicked the first of his six conversions in the first quarter.

Balado ran for a 10-yard score, before Steve Lynch returned an interception 40 yards for a 21-0 lead to open the second period.

Firmender (10-yard pass) and Hubler (5-yard run) tallied before Hubler surprised the Trojans with his touchdown pass.

Lyman Hall’s Cam Egana scored on a 25-yard run to take the score to 42-6 at the half.

The Lions’ Matt Cruz scored on a 2-yard run and DiNatale connected with Hubler from 30 yards out. Will Mauro’s PAT completed the scoring for Foran.

Egana (5-yard run) and Kyle Bonet (25-yard pass from Egana) put the final points on the board for the Trojans (1-4).
