The Foran High football staged a comeback in the final period before losing a 28-16 decision to visiting Hillhouse High at the Vito DeVito Sports Complex on Friday.
Coach Jeff Bevino’s Lions are now 4-5 with a game remaining on Thanksgiving Day at Jonathan Law. Hillhouse improved to 6-3.
The Academics led 7-0 after one quarter, 21-0 at the half and 28-0 after three periods.
Jared Hubler threw a 22-yard TD pass to Victor Rios and then connected with Matt Kennedy for the two-point conversion.
Andrew Janik hit Zac Cleary with a 27-yard TD pass, before Hubler ran for the two-pointer to complete the scoring.
