Kolbe Cathedral defeated New Fairfield 8-2 Thursday to clinch the No. 7 seed in the South-West Conference softball quarterfinals.
Kolbe and Joel Barlow finished with identical 8-7 league records. KC earned the No. 7 spot based on its regular-season win over Barlow, which is the No. 8 seed.
Here are the pairings for Saturday, May 24:
No. 8 Barlow at No. 1 Lauralton Hall 10:30 a.m.
No. 7 Kolbe Cathedral at No. 2 Masuk 1 p.m.
No. 6 New Milford at No. 3 Oxford 3:30 p.m.
No. 5 Newtown at No. 4 Pomperaug 11 a.m.
The semifinals will be played at Sacred Heart University and at Frank DeLuca Hall of Fame Field on Tuesday, May 27. Both games will begin at 4 p.m.
The winner of No. 1 v. No. 8 will play the winner of No. 4 v. No. 5 at Sacred Heart University.
The winner of No. 2 v. No. 7 will face the winner of No. 3 v. No. 6 at DeLuca Field.
The finals are Wednesday, May 28, at DeLuca Field at 7 p.m.
