Casey Dulin an All-MAAC choice
The Marist College women’s basketball team had a league-high five members named to All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) teams on Monday.
While the Red Foxes did not have anyone on the first team, and therefore eligible for MAAC Player of the Year, Casey Dulin from Milford and Elizabeth Beynnon from Burlington, Vt. were selected to the second team.
Leanne Ockenden (Syracuse, N.Y) and Emma O’Connor (Lynbrook, N.Y.) were on the third team.
Freshman Sydney Coffey (New Hope, Minn.) was selected to the All-Rookie Team and is now up for MAAC Rookie of the Year, which will be announced Thursday night at the MAAC Postseason Awards Show at the Naismith Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mass.
Dulin has had a strong junior season, playing numerous roles for the Red Foxes.
Named to the All-Tournament team following last year’s MAAC Championships, Dulin finished second on the team with 10.3 points per game, while leading with 90 assists.
She was second on the team with 46 steals and grabbed 4.2 rebounds per game. Her .815 free throw percentage ranks fourth in the MAAC.
Twice this year Dulin has reached her career-high of 25 points in a game, with the most recent coming against Rider on Feb. 22.
That game, plus her 20-point performance against Loyola on Feb. 24, earned Dulin her first career MAAC Player of the Week award.
Named to the Preseason All-MAAC second team this year, Beynnon has led Marist all season in scoring, averaging in double figures the entire way.
She finished the regular season with an average of 12 points per game, while leading the MAAC with a .507 shooting percentage. She grabbed an average of 4.2 rebounds per game.
Marist will next be in action in Springfield, Mass. for the MAAC Championships.
The top-seeded Red Foxes will play in the quarterfinals at 1:30 p.m. on Friday against the winner of the preliminary game between #8 Loyola and #9 Manhattan.
