The University of Bridgeport’s Brian O’Keefe, a left handed junior pitcher out of Foran High, earned a spot on the East Coast Conference honor roll released on Monday, April 7.
O’Keefe was simply outstanding in blanking Queens College, 2-0, on the road on April 4, firing a six-hit, nine-inning complete game shutout in which he fanned nine and walked only one.
O’Keefe has now not allowed a run in his last 16.2 innings pitched. In his last two starts, he has pitched 18 innings in which he has allowed only one run on nine hits whiling fanning 20 batters and walking only three.
O’Keefe is 2-4 on the season for the Purple Knights, who are 9-17 overall and 3-9 in the ECC.
