Boys soccer: Lawmen qualify for states with 5-1 victory

The Jonathan Law boys soccer team punched its ticket into the state tournament with a 5-1 victory over East Haven on Monday.

Kevin Linn opened up the scoring in the first minute of the game to give Law a 1-0 lead.

Will Contaxis scored the next two goals for coach Michael Gruber’s Lawmen.

Mark Germanese tallied his first goal of the season to give Law a 4-0 lead at the half.

Linn scored his second goal of the night one minute into the second half.

East Haven scored a goal in the 69th minute to make it 5-1.

Jack Pincus Coyle had four saves for Law. Timothy Hanna had 2.

East Haven’s Carlos Portilla made eight saves for East Haven.

Law improved to 7-7 and will host Foran High Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
