The Jonathan Law boys soccer team recorded its first victory of the season when they traveled to Hartford to play Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy and came away with an 8-0 victory.

Kevin Linn scored four goals for coach Michael Gruber’s Lawmen.

Will Contaxis had three goals. Dennis Sweeney and Nick Dostal had one goal each.

Sweeney had two assists.

Zack Anderson, Linn, Matt Evanko and Jon Vitale added helpers.

Jared Pincus Coyle had four saves, as Law won the shot on goal battle 27-9.

The first goal of the game took place at the 10:37 mark in the first half when Linn split two defenders and beat the goalie.

Law continued to keep pressure on HMTCA and Contaxis scored a beautiful header off a corner kick taken by Anderson at the 12-minute mark.

Linn then found Contaxis and he hit a 25-yard strike to the upper left hand corner.

Linn scored three answered goals before the half to give the Lawmen a 6-0 lead.

Sweeney made it 7-0 with a left footed strike and Dostal rounded out the scoring with four minutes left in the game.

The defense had a strong game with Troy Anderson, Colin White, Jucar Lopes and Zack Anderson.

Law plays next on Friday against Career/Hillhouse on the road.
