Boys soccer: Cardona salvages draw for Lions

Glaymer Cardona's highlight-reel goal with 16:27 left to play helped the Foran High boys soccer team salvage a 2-2 deadlock with Lyman Hall of Wallingford on Friday night at the DeVito Sports Complex.

Cardona's dipping strike helped coach Rick DiStefano's Lions earn their third straight draw, as Foran moved to 2-5-4 overall. Lyman Hall went to 2-7-2.\

All four of the game's goals were tallied in a frenetic second half.

Sophomore defender Caleb Tondora opening the scoring with 37:30 left in the second half, staking Foran to a 1-0 edge. The Trojans equalized almost immediately after the restart, as Ryan Doyle belted a shot past Lion keeper Evan Miller at 37:03.

Lyman Hall then took the lead at 26:22, on an own goal by the Lions.

Foran returns to action on Wednesday, when Hamden (6-4-1) on Wednesday night at 6:30.
