Boys hockey: Milford defeats Amity in overtime
Brandon Argyros scored at 7:08 of overtime when the Milford Coop boys ice hockey team defeated Amity-Woodbridge, 3-2, on Wednesday.
Coach Sal Follo’s Indians are now 3-2-0. Amity is 1-5-0.
Andrew Gobany, who had the assist with Luke Gibbs on the decisive goal, scored with 46 seconds left in regulation to force the extra session.
Tommy Kuryla had given Milford a 1-0 lead at 1:48 of the first period.
Amity’s Charlie Cesejka tied the game at 14:21 and gave the Spartans a 2-1 lead with an unassisted goal at 2:40 of the second stanza.
Doug McLenithan, had the assist on Kuryla’s goal.
Nick Gennaro and Nic Gallucci had assists for Amity.
Milford’s Luke Alfano made 42 saves. Tyler Johnston stopped 27 shots.
