The Foran High boys basketball team defeated Platt Tech, 65-44, in the Platt Tech Christmas Tournament on Wednesday.

Zach Tavitian scored 16 points, Matt Krempa 15, J.T. Lanese 12 and Matt Cruz nine for coach Tim Swaller’s Lions.

Lanese made four 3-pointers and Krempa three.

Foran took a 20-12 lead after one period and led 44-36 after three quarters.

Stephen Castillo scored 13 points and Shawn Rucker 12 for the Panthers.

Foran lost to Sheehan-Wallingford, 59-55, in a first round game on Monday.

Foul shooting, which had been a team strength, failed the Lions as they shot 12-for-29 from the stripe.

Tavitian scored 22 points and Jordan Townsend 18.

Kyle Brennan scored 16 points for the Titans.
