The Jonathan Law baseball team knocked off eighth-seeded E.O. Smith by a 4-0 count in a Class L first round game in Storrs on Tuesday.

Evan Carollo (7-2) scattered five hits to blank the Eagles, now 13-8.

Kyle Frey drove in three runs for 25th-seeded Law (11-10), which will play at ninth-seeded East Haven on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.

The Easties (14-7) edged Foran High, 6-5, in its first round game.

Ron Griswold had a triple for coach Greg Simler’s Lawmen.
