Milford swim

Milford Coop was edged by Hamden 86-83 in boys’ swimming and diving. Logan McCorkle was first in the 500-freestyle with a time of 6:17.69. Neven Vidosevic, Jayden Cruz, Mason Turner and Logan Griffin won the 200-freestyle relay in 1:59.98. Evan Murphy took the 100-backstroke with a winning time of 1:23.97. Gerold Gutierrez captured the 100-breaststroke in 1:06.80. Mason Turner, McCorkle, Cruz and Gutierrez won the 400-freestyle relay in 4:14.19.

Foran gymnastics

Foran’s Riley Grunow tied for third on the vault with a score of 8.7 when the Lions (113.6) met unbeaten Trumbull (137.45) and Wilton (123.55) in girls’ gymnastics.

Milford hockey

Milford Mariner Aiden Ragusa scored a goal in the first period before Lyman Hall took control to post a 7-1 boys’ hockey win. Connor Chirico had the assist for Milford. Max Howland made 55 saves. Jack Roberts scored three goals for Lyman Hall, 8-1-0.

Law gymnastics

Emma Nelly tied for second on beam (8.3) and MaKenna Sharpe was third in floor exercise (8.5) for Jonathan Law, now 4-1, when it lost 138.25-129.5 to Daniel Hand in girls’ gymnastics.

Foran wrestling

Foran, ranked No. 7 in the Connecticut Wrestling Online Top 10 high school wrestling poll defeated Waterford 47-24 on Friday to improve to 14-4. Coach Dave Esposito’s upper weight provided separation from the host Lancers. Joseph Cichowski pinned in his 1:10 of his 195-pound match to extend the Foran lead to 35-24. Barry Held had a fall at the 5:17 mark at 220 pounds before Lion heavyweight Jason Cruz took only 27 seconds to pin. Mason Hallstrom pinned in 3:57 at 113 pounds. Antonio Madero recorded a 21-6 win by technical fall at 126. Kyle Pokornowski pinned in 28 seconds of his 145-pound bout. James Taylor at 160 pinned in 30 seconds.
