Law softball advances, Lula gets 100th career hit vs East Haven

Maddie Lula reached the 100-hit milestone when the Law senior helped her team defeat East Haven 5-2 in the SCC softball quarterfinals on Monday.

No. 6 seed Law will visit No. 3 seed Amity in the semifinals on Tuesday.

Lula had a two-run homer in a three-run third inning rally as coach Melanie Blude’s team improved to 14-5. Lula’s base hit in the sixth inning was the 100th of her career. Lula did it in three years, after missing out on her junior season due to the pandemic.

Grace Kantor doubled home Paige Jolley, who had singled, prior to the Lula home run.

Grace Hess had a two-run double in the sixth.

Talia Salanto allowed three hits and struck out six.

Sammie Frocesci and Emilee Bishop each had a home run for No. 3 seed East Haven.
