Law captures SCC divisional boys soccer title

Law earned the SCC Quinnipiac Division boys’ soccer title when it defeated Branford 3-1.

Coach Mike Gruber’s Lawmen improved to 12-0-0 with the home win.

This is the first time Law has won a division crown since 1986. It is the first time Law has qualified for the SCC tournament.

Lex Edwards opened the scoring on a free kick.

Branford responded 10 minutes later when Cam Meli struck a bouncing shot past Wywoda.

Law continued to attack.

Marcus Dostal found the back of the net off an assist by Alex Rodriguez.

Eliot Melgar pounced on a rebound off a Dostal shot and scored with four minutes remaining to make it 3-1. Wywoda made five saves.

Marcus Dostal had a hat trick with Lex Edwards, Dylan Soule and Connor Calderone supplying assists when Law defeated Shelton 3-1. Jaden Wywoda made five saves to preserve the win.
