Lauralton swim & dive defeats SCC rival Daniel Hand

The Lauralton Hall girls’ swimming and diving team defeated Daniel Hand, 101-83, in Milford.

It was the fifth consecutive win to start the season for coach Paul Katz and the Crusaders.

“It was an exciting and challenging meet for us,” Katz said. “Claire Kehley and Ashlyn Blesse both won two individual events.”

A senior, Kehley won the 200- and 500-freestyle. Blessey, also a senior, was first in the 50- and 100-freestyle swims.

Jaiden Johnson, a sophomore, was best in the 100-butterfly.

Freshman Phoebe Hamblett was first in the 100-backstroke.

Julia Green, a senior, won the 1-meter dive.

Hamblett, Jenny Wu, Johnson and Elizabeth Long were first in the 200-medley relay.

Johnson, Caroline Begg, Blessey and Kehley took first in the 200-freestyle relay.

Daniel Hand’s Abby Chemacki won the 200 individual medley and Samy Chemacki took the top spot in the 100-breaststroke.
