Foran’s Brett Dumais captured the pole vault title at the SCC Eastern Sectional track and field meet at Bowen Field in New Haven on Wednesday.
Dumais’ vault of 13-7 feet bettered Daniel Hand’s Bryce Meyers’ effort of 13-feet.
Hand won the boys’ team title. Hillhouse was second followed by Shelton, Law and Cheshire. Foran placed 10th.
Basit Iddriss finished ninth in the 800-meter run (2:06.94).
Max Newton was ninth in the pole vault (8-0 feet).
Ben Carlson placed ninth in the javelin throw (117-0 feet).
Damon Downs placed 12th in the 1600-meter run (4:50.31) and 15th in the 3200-meter run (11:16.52).
Joe DeFreitas placed 14th in the 400-meter dash (55.32). Jake Duggan was 16th (56.52).
David Grant-Eckhart took 16th in the long jump (16-11 feet) and 18th in the triple jump (35-05 feet).
Daniel Thanas was 16th in the shot put (36-06 feet). Jacob Papazoglou was 19th (33-04 feet) and Austin Murphy 26th (29-01 feet).
Luke Cruz finished 17th (93-01 feet), Ian Eisenman 18th (91-07 feet), Juanito Briones 23rd (83-02 feet), Barry Held 28th (79-09 feet) and Murphy 29th (79-06 feet) in the discus throw.
Xavier Douglas was 18th (16-04 feet) in the long jump and 23rd in the triple jump (33-07 feet).
Cole Heitmann was 22nd (5:38.33) in the 1600-meter run.
Jay Yang was 23rd in the 200-meter dash (25.80). Grey Kerrison was 24th (26.09).
Girls Meet
Sheehan took first. Cheshire, Hillhouse, Amity and Shelton were top five. Foran was 10th.
Soledad Meade was fourth in the pole vault at 8 feet. Ava Steigbiegel was fifth.
Jessie D’Avignon, Ava Steigbiegel, Jullian Junga and Kayleigh Hackett placed seventh in the 4x100 relay (55.00).
Arezeo Ghazagh was 10th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:31.37.
Emma Fiorillo took 13th in the discus throw (69-7 feet).
Iris Chen was 15th in the 1600-meter run (6:52.48).
