The Foran girls’ soccer team returns a veteran group.

“I have nine seniors,” said coach Casey Blake, in her sixth year at the helm and ninth overall on staff. “We have two players that joined us as seniors when they moved to Milford. The other girls have been with us for three or four years, some with the varsity.”

Lauren Ardolino, Hanna Della Bitta-Falkowski and Rylee Tondora will captain the Lions, who graduated eight players from the 2019 squad that finished 7-5-1.

“Hanna took over in goal when Emily Wheaton graduated (2020),” Blake said. “Rylee will lead the center backs on defense and Lauren will be in the midfield. Haley Flynn will join Rylee. Courtney Musante, who has played in back and up top, will be on the flank at outside back with Taylor LaFountain, who started last year as a freshman.”

Georgia Malesky and Lauren Attolino will be center midfielders. Zoe Fallon, Colleen Ardolino will play on the outside with Izzy Fallon and Taylar Gottsegan.

Mia Lowenburg, Skylar Agresti and Colleen Ardolino will play forward.

Blake said: “I have girls that can fill in nicely and give reprieve to starters and it is still level play. We aren’t losing anything with our bench. Last year was a gift. We got to play. The girls are excited for the season. We have talented players with a team-first mentality. They generally care about each other. Across the board they love soccer.”

Foran will visit North Haven to open the season on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 4 p.m.
