Brown County pitcher Taryn Moorman and the Tri-County All-Star Senior League softball team will compete in the Little League World Series beginning tonight.

Moorman figured prominently in the team’s run to the Little League Central Region Tournament championship. Tri-County was facing elimination with one loss in the tournament, but Moorman threw a perfect game to keep her team alive. Tri-County won the next game to take the championship.

Tri-County has plenty of star power. It’s a team of high school rivals. Besides Moorman, the roster includes Pleasant Hill’s Makenna Winchell, McKinley Lowe and Ava Wombles; Rushville-Industry’s Addie Greene; Pittsfield’s Emma Henry and Grace Henry; Macomb’s Kaitlyn Robinson and Kylie Robinson; Carthage’s Elly Krieg; and Havana’s Abby Cowell, Jaylyn Sarnes and Elisabeth Waymire.

Tri-County will take on the West Region champions as they start pool play tonight in Lower Sussex, Delaware. First pitch is at 7 p.m.

All games will be televised on ESPN+.

Teams from all over the United States, Canada, Latin America, the Asia-Pacific Region and the Europe-Africa Region will compete.
