Mayor Ben Blake, Democrat, and his challenger, Republican Paula Smith, answered questions about taxes, Silver Sands State Park, affordable housing and more during a debate Tuesday night downtown.
The Plymouth Men's Club hosted the forum at the First United Church of Christ, attracting more than 100 residents to hear the candidates' opinions and ideas about managing the city.
Asked about how they would keep taxes under control, Blake talked about the ways the city has streamlined spending and brought in new revenue.
Smith focused on the need to bring more businesses into the city, saying there is only so much that can be cut from operational expenses.
