Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro (D-3) has endorsed James Maroney, a Democrat, for the 14th District State Senate seat.

“James Maroney has dedicated his life on behalf of working families, stronger public education and improved job training,” DeLauro said, according to a press releases issued by Maroney’s campaign. “As a State Representative, he worked to expand parking in Downtown Milford, led a statewide effort on an apprenticeship program with community colleges, and initiated the Milford Founders Walk project which is an asset to the region.

“As a legislator, James has shown an ability to find solutions to the most complicated budget problems,” DeLauro continued. “James Maroney has the right combination of experience and ingenuity to tackle the issues facing Connecticut and deliver for his constituents.”

Maroney said he is proud to receive DeLauro’s endorsement.

“She represents so many of the things I value; unsurpassed constituent service, relentlessly advocating for middle class citizens, caring for our seniors and making sure the playing field is level for everyone,” Maroney said.

Maroney is running against Republican Pam Staneski for the 14th District seat. Staneski is currently State Representative of the 119th District.
