Police: Man dies from fall at Stamford mall
STAMFORD — Investigators are looking into the apparent suicide of a Stamford man at the Stamford Town Center mall on Monday morning, police said.
Officers were called to the rear of the mall on a report of a man down at about 9:30 a.m., Stamford police Capt. Richard Conklin said. When police arrived, they determined that the man had fallen from the parking structure onto a loading dock area off Edith Sherman Way, Conklin said.
Conklin said the death appears to be by suicide. Police investigators were trying to determine which level the man fell from, he said. The man was 48 years old, and police were withholding his name until his family has been notified of his death, he said.
The mall remained open while police investigated the incident, Conklin said.
