Motorcyclist in critical condition after Bridgeport collision
BRIDGEPORT — A Bridgeport man was in critical condition at the hospital Tuesday night after a collision where he was ejected from his motorcycle, according to the police.
Bridgeport patrol officers responded to the intersection of East Main and Stillman streets for a serious crash at 5:33 p.m., according to Capt. Kevin Gilleran.
A 26-year-old Bridgeport man was driving north on East Main Street on a blue and white 2013 Yamaha motorcycle.
Gilleran said as the Bridgeport man approached the intersection of East Main and Stillman Street, a 23-year-old city resident — driving a red 2006 Nissan Altima — was headed east on Stillman Street.
“As the Nissan Altima traveled across East Main Street, the car and motorcycle collided,” Gilleran said. “The Nissan came to a stop on Stillman Street just east of its intersection with East Main Street.”
The driver of the motorcycle was ejected and landed in the street at the northeast corner of East Main and Stillman streets, Gilleran said. The motorcycle was found on Stillman Street, a few feet from the intersection.
The motorcycle driver was taken to Bridgeport Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
The driver of the Nissan was uninjured and cooperating with investigators, Gilleran said.
The Bridgeport Police Accident Reconstruction Team responded for further investigation.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Officer Judson Brown at 203-576-7640.
