Milford cops: Fairfield man stole laptop, broke into dealership
MILFORD - A Fairfield man was arrested on burglary and larceny charges early Saturday morning.
Omar Rodriguez, 31, of Sunset Road in Fairfield, was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny, second and third-degree criminal mischief and interfering with a police officer.
According to police, shortly after midnight a motorist was traveling on the Boston Post Road near the intersection with Bridgeport Avenue when they observed a stranded motorist in the middle of the road.
When they stopped to render aid, the accused reached into the car a stole a laptop computer and took off on foot.
The victim then observed the suspect break into the front door of Dan Perkins Subaru on Bridgeport Avenue.
Police were called to the scene and located Rodriguez who led police on a foot pursuit.
Police were able to locate and arrest Rodriguez.
He was held on $5,000 and will be arraigned in Milford Superior Court on Monday.
