Thomas Norman Shea Sr., age 87, of Milford, died on Saturday, April 19, 2014 in Bridgeport Hospital. He was born in Boston, MA on November 15, 1926 to the late Michael Cornelius and Hanora Minihane Shea, and proudly served with the U.S. Navy during WWII and after the war, continued serving with the Merchant Marines. Thomas worked as a salesman for DuBois Chemical for many years before his retirement. He was an avid sailor, active in the Milford Frostbiters Association and Windjammers Sailing Club. Survivors include his children Thomas N. (Jane) Shea Jr., Mark P. (Susan) Shea both of MA., Daniel O. (Roberta) Shea of Stratford, Catherine (Peter) Smith, Edward C. (Kimberley & Brittney Williams) Shea all of Milford and Margaret (Keith) Mackenzie-Betty also of MA., two brothers John Shea of MA., and Robert Shea of RI., 11 grandchildren Neil, Andrew, Douglas,\u00a0 and Jon Shea; Mary and Ryan Shea; Michael and Caitlin Smith; Matthew, Joseph and Amarah Mackenzie-Betty, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by brothers Francis, Edmond, Louis, and his sister, Martha, all from Massachusetts. A Family Memorial Service will be held Tuesday April 22, 2014 at 1:00 pm in the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St., Milford. Friends may call prior to the service from 12 Noon.
