Susan Golas, age 93, of Milford and formerly of Fairfield, beloved wife of the late Harry Golas, died on November 6, 2014. Susan was born in St. Louis, Missouri on February 18, 1921 to the late Oscar and Mary Huson Schorer. Sue worked at the Westport Famous Artists School where over the course of several decades, she rose to manage nineteen employees, oversaw applications to the school, made sure talent tests were graded and sent salesmen to applicants\u2019 doors to sign up for 24 correspondence art lessons. She cherished the memory she had of having lunch with Norman Rockwell and called it the most exciting hour of her career. Sue was an avid bridge player, playing in the same bridge club for over 60 years. She served on the board of the Southport Women\u2019s Club for many years and enjoyed to go on cruises. Survivors include her daughter, Judith Paradis (Robert) of Milford, step-daughter, Beverly Rega (Charles), step-son, Gary Golas (Robbyn), 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Sue is pre-deceased by her first husband, Robert Belknap and step-son, Robert Golas. Friends and family may call on Monday night from 5:00PM-7:00PM in The Gregory F Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Tuesday at 10:00AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery, Fairfield.
