Sharon K. Browning Dirga, age 68, of Milford, beloved wife of Peter Dirga, passed through the Gates of Heaven from her home, on March 8, 2014, surrounded by her family, after a long battle with cancer. Sharon was born on December 22, 1945 in Bridgeport, CT, the beloved daughter of the late George and Carmeda Browning. She graduated from Harding High School in Bridgeport, CT, and was a purchasing agent at Mercury Communications for 15 years. Sharon was a loving, giving, understanding, and outgoing Wife, Mother and Friend, and was a very devoted Grandmother. She was an avid book reader and loved mysteries. Sharon enjoyed rooting for her beloved NY Yankees, loved flowers and cooking delicious Sunday meals. She was also well known as a second Mom to her daughters\u2019 friends. She will be dearly missed. In addition to her loving husband & best friend of 48 years, Peter John, survivors include her 3 daughters, Denise Carroll and her husband Raymond, Michelle Murphy and her husband Richard, and Leigh Dirga, 6 cherished grandchildren, Jennifer, Madison, and Jake Murphy, and Michael, Jonathan, and Andrew Carroll, 3 brothers, Leon Browning and his wife Janet, Wayne Browning and Robert Browning and his wife Robin, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Sharon was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Shafer, brother George Browning, and his wife Judy Browning, brother James Browning, and nephew Scott Browning. Funeral services will take place on Friday, March 14th at 11:30 a.m. in the Adzima Funeral Home 50 Paradise Green Place Stratford, with Rev. John Stronkowski officiating.
