Maureen Docherty Piselli, age 72, of Salisbury, a former longtime resident of Milford and beloved wife to Frank Piselli, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 25, 2014 at CT Hospice in Branford. Born in Motherwell, Scotland on May 16, 1941, she was the daughter of the late John and Ellen Murphy Docherty. She emigrated to the United States in October, 1961 where she met Frank and were married in 1964, settling in Milford to raise their family. Maureen was employed by Schick in the engineering department, and was also a broker with the Kinderhook Group in Salisbury where she just recently passed her license recertification. An avid reader, Maureen was a dedicated volunteer with the Literacy Program of Milford and took great pleasure in teaching others the joys of reading. She traveled every year with her husband, Frank, to Settefratti, Frosinone, Italy and, at home, enjoyed spending time relaxing at Lake Wononscopomoc. Loving and gracious wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Maureen\u2019s pride and joy were her family and she will be deeply missed. In addition to her husband Frank of 49 years, she is survived by her cherished sons; Donato (Kati) Piselli and Carlo (Alicia) Piselli all of Milford and six grandchildren; her siblings, Doreen (Nello) Piselli, Ella Murphy, Winnie (Fred) Mullin, and John Docherty and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins in the US, Scotland and Italy. She was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 30th at 10:30 am at St. Mary Church (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH), 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT. Interment to follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
