Beverly Joan Specht Gammage died peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2015 in Milford, Connecticut. She is predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Stuart Richard Gammage, Sr., and her parents Ethel Natress Specht and Simon Edward Specht. She is survived by her children Cindy Gammage Collins ( Roger), Kelly Ann Gammage ( James Krantz), and Stuart Richard Gammage, Jr; grandchildren Christine Collins Hooper (Joshua), Jessica Collins ( Rush Atkinson), Kathleen Collins ( Dan O'Connor), Emily Wist, Corinne Wist, Andrew Wist, Stuart Richard Gammage III (Bridget), and Jacklyn Gammage ( Garrett Allison); and great-grandchildren Mackenzie Hooper and Brooke Gammage. Beverly grew up in Allentown, PA. She attended nursing school at the Hospital University of Pennsylvania, obtained her Bachelor's degree from St. Joseph's University and Master's Degree from Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. She worked as a pediatric nurse in Prince George's County, MD and later served as the head of Maryland's Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program. After retiring, she and her husband spent their summers in Dewey Beach, DE, and wintered in Summerfield, FL until she moved to Milford, CT in 2013. Beverly adored her family and cherished the time they spent together. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 29th at St. Peter's Church, 71 River St., Milford CT at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow in the parish hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in her memory to St. Peter's Church, the Heifer International, KINFolk, or the Ministry of Caring, Emmanuel Dining room in Wilmington DE.
