Stanley J. Nerkowski, age 99, formerly of Milford for 50 years, husband to the late Emily Beer Nerkowski, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2014 at Westview HCC in Dayville, CT.
Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late Ignatius and Anna Nerkowski. He served with pride and honor in the US Army during WII.
Prior to his retirement, Stanley worked as a manager for several grocery store chains.
He is survived by his son, Stanley Nerkowski, Jr. and his wife Diane of Salem, SC., two grandchildren, his brother, Frank Nerkowski of CT and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday (TODAY) November 21, 2014 at 10:30 am at Saint Mary Church 70 Gulf Street, Milford, CT. 06460 (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment to follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, Branford. There will be no calling hours and arrangements are being handled by the Cody White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT. 06460.
