
Salvatore Celso, age 84, longtime resident of Milford passed away in his home on Wednesday March 19, 2014 with his loving daughters at his side. He joins his beloved wife of 51 years Agnes M. Celso, his parents Nicola and Concetta Scavone Celso, his sisters Diana Defusco and Marie Dibiaso along with his brothers Anthony, Joseph, Nicolas, Lawrence and Robert.
He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Ann Pochy and her husband David of Orange and Christine M. Fasciano and Donald Cohen of Shelton. He is also survived by his brother, Ernest Celso and his wife Lena of West Haven and sister Frances Giannatassio of East Haven along with many loving nieces; and nephews.
Sal was an avid fisherman, since his father first took him as a small child. He excelled at custom rods, had a column in a local paper for a few years and was known to tell a fish tale or two.
He was a master plasterer, but his heart was in his later job working with his two brothers, Tony and Ernie Celso, for Celso Brothers Painting, Inc.
He loved the outdoors, people, had a zest for life and a wonderful smile that could light up a room. He will be sadly missed.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, March 22, 2014 from 8:00 am to 10:00 a.m. with a prayer service at 10:00 a.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. 06460. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery. A Celebration of Salvatore Celso’s Life will be held following his services at Jeffrey’s Restaurant, 501 New Haven Ave., Milford where family and friends are welcome to attend.
