Russell Frederick Bray Jr., 92, of Milford passed away on Sunday, July 20, at the Milford Health and Rehabilitation Center after a long and wonderful life.
He was born August 31, 1921 in New London, the son of Russell F. and Florence Edna (Hurlburt) Bray.
He married Janice Leigh Clark on October 26, 1945 in Springfield, MA.
Mr. Bray was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Lieutenant in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He was a graduate of Yale University, Class of 1946N, and a member of the Tau Beta Pi, honorary engineering society.
After a long and varied career as a mechanical engineer, he devoted his time to camping, gardening, bird watching and loving his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Beverly (Bonnie) and Jim Ehmann, Rebecca and Nancy, Richard and Mary Ellen, sister-in-law Mildred Bray, as well as many nieces and nephews, eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
He was predeceased by his sister Betty Truman and brother Charles Edwin Bray Sr.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, August 16th at Woodmont United Church Of Christ, 1000 New Haven Avenue, Milford CT 06460. Committal will be private.
