Obituary: Rose C. O’Brien, 85, of Milford

Rose C. O’Brien, age 85, longtime resident of Milford and beloved wife to John O’Brien, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Milford Hospital.

Born on June 5, 1929 in New Haven, CT, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Teresa Prete Cimino.

Rose was employed by the former Bell Telephone Company in New Haven and enjoyed playing on the Tele-Bells basketball and softball teams, receiving several championships. Prior to her retirement, Rose worked for Equitable Life Insurance.

Rose was known for her wonderful cooking skills which she shared with her grandchildren, and her passion for listening to music, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Kind, warm and caring, she will be deeply missed.

In addition to her husband, John of 55 years, she is survived by her cherished daughters; Patty Bradbury (Skip) of Milford and Judy Cannata (Paul) of Orange; her beloved grandchildren, Heather and Ryan Bradbury, and Paul, Michael and Tim Cannata ; her precious great granddaughter, Harlow and her sister Teresa “Babe” Szekeres of Wallingford. Also her sister-in-law, Teresa Cimino, nieces Dolores Fiedler and Linda Angelo and their husbands and many more loving family members.

She was predeceased by her brother, Gennaro “John” Cimino, and her sister-in-law, Mary Cimino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, December 26th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT. 06460. Interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery, North Haven. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, December 23rd from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford.
