
Robert A. Parcells, 82, of Milford, CT and Jensen Beach, Fla., husband of Miriam “Mimi” Quinn Parcells, died Friday, January 17, 2014 in Stuart, FL after a lengthy illness.
“Bob” was born May 30, 1931 in New Haven, CT to Alfred Charles and Pauline Greene Parcells.
He also leaves behind his son Robert (Beth) Parcells of Wallingford, CT,and daughter Paula (Ed) Wendland of Charlotte, NC, sister Colonel (Ret) Phyllis Parcells of Palm Harbor,FL, brother Alan C. Parcells(Valerie) of Madison, CT, six grandchildren: William Parcells of Princeton, NJ, Sarah Parcells of Wallingford CT, Edward and Eric Wendland of Charlotte, NC, Jenna and Matthew Parcells of Madison, CT and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son David J. Parcells.
Bob was a graduate of Quinnipiac University. He was an Army Korean War veteran who served as an Honor Guard @ Arlington National Cemetery from 1952 to 1953. During that time he participated in the Inaugural Ceremony for President Dwight Eisenhower.
Bob was a Tax Accountant for the NYNHH Railroad, Armstrong Rubber and Mark IV Industries until his retirement in 1989. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He loved to travel and cruise which took him to Europe, the Caribbean, and other vacation sites. He visited Hawaii and England to witness his son David compete in the Ironman Triathlon and swim the English Channel. He loved his vacation condo in Jensen Beach, which was steps from the beach, and the many friends he and Mimi have there.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 23rd at 10:30 am at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf st., Milford, CT 06460. Burial will be at a later date. Friends may call Wednesday evening, Jan 22nd from 4 to 8 pm at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
