Obituary: Richard E. Sudusky, 83, of Milford

Richard E. Sudusky, age 83, died at Milford Hospital on Monday, July 7, 2014 after a sudden illness.

Born January 30, 1931 in New Haven, Connecticut, he attended Torrington High School and graduated in 1949. Richard served in the US Air Force until 1954 as a radio operator in security service. On April 25, 1964, he married the former Frances Dytkowski. Fran and Dick were fortunate to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary earlier this year.

He lived most of his life in Milford, working at Fuller Brush, Henderson Chevrolet, and Miller Buick until retiring in 1996. Richard was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Legion of Mary, Disabled American Veterans, Nocturnal Adoration Society, and was a proud supporter of the Democratic party.

He was active in St. Mary’s Church, serving as lead usher for many years. Richard will be especially remembered for his generosity, loving heart, and passion for gardening.

Survivors include his wife Frances Sudusky; his three sons Richard Sudusky and wife Jessica of Northford CT, Stephen Sudusky and wife Sharon of West Haven, CT, and John Sudusky and wife Josune of West Haven, CT; seven grandchildren Ashley, Julia, Stephanie, John Louise, Kyle, Joshua, and Maria Sudusky.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Joseph, and his sister Audrey Lotocki.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 12th at 9:30am at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT 0640. Burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Friends and family may call on Friday, July 11th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
