Phyllis Mary Rice, 83 a longtime resident of Milford, CT beloved wife of the late Donald E. Rice, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 8th. Born on February 1, 1931 in New Haven, CT she was the daughter of the late Mary Bogart Bernardo and Joseph Bernardo. Phyllis was predeceased by her brother James.
She leaves behind her loving children and their spouses, Janice and Patrick McEneaney of Glastonbury, CT, Elaine and Jeffrey Watts of Rocky Hill, CT, Diane and Bruce Gall of Norwalk, CT, David and Kristi Rice of Bethlehem, CT and Thomas Rice of Wethersfield, CT.
In addition, Phyllis is survived by the loves of her life, her 12 grandchildren, Conor, Katie, Pearse McEneaney, Craig, Cara Watts, Alexandra, Brian, Daniel Gall, Mikaela, Kylie, Amanda and Matthew Rice. Her sister Mary Anne Long of West Haven, CT, brother Joseph of East Haven, CT and many nieces and nephews.
At the request of the family, a private funeral service for Phyllis will be held on Tuesday, August 12 beginning at 11 am at Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460 followed by a private burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
