Mary Ann “Mamie” Saunders, age 58 of Shelton, beloved daughter of the late Arthur A. and Anna Kelly Saunders, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2013 in St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
Mamie was born and raised in Bridgeport and resided in both Trumbull and Shelton.
Survivors include her loving brothers and sisters; A. Kelly Saunders and wife Kim of Trumbull, Terence J. Saunders of Milford, Eileen Saunders Piquette and husband Michael of Trumbull, and Faith Saunders Douglass and husband Rickey of Trumbull, her nieces and nephews; Lauren, Kate, Caroline, Tyler, and Joseph, a great nephew Nathan, and uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Mamie loved spending time with her family, singing, watching movies, holding hands, and always had a smile for everyone.
Mamie’s family would like to thank the staff of St. Vincent’s Special Needs for their continuous love and care for their sister.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00a.m., meeting directly in St. Theresa Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. Friends may call Sunday from 2 - 6p.m., in the Redgate - Hennessy Funeral Home, Main Street and Gorham Place, Trumbull.
