Margaret E. (Betty) Kelley, age 90, a longtime resident of Milford passed away peacefully Friday June 6, 2014, in Milford Hospital.
Born August 5, 1923, in Syracuse, N.Y. she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Myrtle (Smith) Allen.
After graduating from Bassick High School she worked as a secretary for several manufacturing companies including Milford Automatics.
Betty was an avid UConn Huskies girls basketball fan, enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters; Maureen (Edward) Jezierny of Milford, Barbara (John) Spongberg of West Haven, Ellen O’Connell and Jane Kelley both of Hamden, 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
As well as her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband James and son John.
Calling hours will be Monday, June 9, from 5 – 7 pm at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home, 135 N. Broad St in Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, June 10 at 11:00 am in St. Agnes Church, 400 Merwin Ave. in Milford. Interment will follow in Kings Hwy Cemetery.
