Obituary: Lillian H. Burr, formerly of Milford

Lillian H. Burr, widow of Ivan N. Burr, formerly of Milford, Ct., died March 6, 2014 at home with her family in Cheshire, Ct. She was 94-years-old.

She was born in Bridgeport, Ct. eldest daughter of Thomas and Grace Loker Hanbury. She moved to Milford in 1978 and as a Licensed Practical Nurse started the Blood Pressure Program at the Milford Senior Center. She also volunteered at the Milford Mobile Red Cross for 15 years.

She is predeceased by her first husband Joseph Burness who died in 1958, a sister Mildred Hanbury and two brothers Thomas Hanbury and William Hanbury.

She is survived by two sisters, Grace Kuraczea of Cheshire and Ann Candela and husband Leonard of Ansonia, two brothers, Timothy Hanbury of Oxford and Edmund Hanbury of Trumbull, and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial mass will be said at St. Thomas Becket Church in Cheshire on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. There will be no calling hours and the burial will be held at a later date in Rehoboth, Mass.
