June M. Beard, age 64, lifelong resident of Milford and beloved wife to James R. Beard, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2014.
Born on June 17, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helene Ladyko Martinitis.
A graduate of Milford HS, Class of 1968, June received an Associate’s degree from Sacred Heart University as a paralegal.
In addition to her husband Jim of 35 years, June was the proud mother and grandmother of Nora Beard and her husband Ryan Anderson of Naugatuck, Andrew Beard and his wife Kara of Virginia Beach, VA, and two precious grandchildren, Ryan and Chloe. She also leaves behind a sister, Joanne Davies of Seymour and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Very civic minded, June was involved with the Milford community in various associations, having served as past president and member of the Milford Garden Club, volunteered for the PTA at her children’s schools and was also a dedicated Girl Scout leader.
Warm, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend, June will be deeply remembered for her generosity and commitment to her family and community.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 20th at 10:30 am at St. Mary Church (MEET DIRECTLY A CHURCH), 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT 06460 with Fr. Maurice Maroney officiating. Interment will be private. Friends and family may call on Sunday, October 19th from 3 to 7 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. CT 06460.
