Joseph R. Avellino, 87, of Milford, CT, died May 15, 2014.
He was born Aug. 31, 1927.
Joseph served proudly in the US Navy aboard the USS Ticonderoga. He was an avid Yankees fan.
Joe was predeceased by his wife, Roseanna Oliver Avellino.
Joe is survived by two sons Joseph and Charles and Roseanna’s children and grandchildren: Robert P. Oliver of North Dakota, Roseann Oliver Miller of Maryland, Katherine Oliver Lutz of Milford, and Maureen Oliver Scrivines of Orange. Grandchildren Liz Lutz Rivera, Kelly Lutz Mai, Rich Lutz, David Scrivines, Kyle Scrivines, Sean Miller, Chelsea Miller, and Nikki Miller.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Gabriel Church, Milford on Saturday June 28th at 10am. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105. Cody White Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements.
