Janet Goerig, age 79, of Milford, beloved wife of John Goerig for 60 years, died on Tuesday June 3, 2014.
Mrs. Goerig was born in Bridgeport, CT on April 14, 1935 to the late Nicholas and Bridget Creegan Capozzi.
She graduated from Harding High School and Southern Connecticut State College with a degree in Library Science. She was the Director of the Health Science Library at Saint Vincent’s Medical Center for over 25 years.
Survivors include her children: David Goerig (Jennifer) of Milford, Stephen Goerig (Valarie) of Milford and Jeffrey Goerig (Anita) of Beacon Falls, five grandchildren; Johnathan, Nicholas, Lauren, Henry, and Patrick Goerig, great-grandchildren; Abby and Cody Goerig, sister-in-law, Joan Pastor of Fairfield and her daughter Susan.
Mrs. Goerig is predeceased by her sister, Agnes Berry.
Friends may call on Sunday, June 8th from 4:00PM-7:00PM in The Gregory F Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 9:30AM DIRECTLY in Saint Ann Church, Milford followed by interment in Saint Mary Cemetery, Milford.
