
Howard G. Hemming, age 97, of Milford, beloved husband of Dorothy, passed away on Christmas Night.
Born on April 10, 1917 in Hamden, CT, he was the son of the late Carl and Helen Hemming.
Howard graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1939 with a BS in Economics. He was a veteran of WWII, proudly serving as a Lieutenant Commander in the US Navy on the USS Takanis Bay. Howard was employed at US Motors for 30 years and was an active member of the Milford Rotary club.
In addition to his wife of 72 years Dorothy, Howard is also survived by his two daughters Gail Battista and Sherry Rogers, and two granddaughters Tracy Stover (Matthew) and Jennifer Battista (Marc).
A graveside service will be held on Monday December 29th, 2014 at 11:00 am at Beaverdale Memorial Park 90 Pine Rock Ave New Haven, CT 06515. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad Street Milford, CT 06460.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Howard’s honor to the Alzheimer’s Association of South Central Connecticut, 2911 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, CT 06518.
